Background
Nina studied at the Paris Institute of Political Science, Science Po. She completed her undergraduate studies at the European campus of Sciences Po and have focused since on migration issues. She worked for the IMES Project on New Educational Methods for Integration of Migrants in the European Society in Hanover and studied on Erasmus at the University of Granada, Spain, where she wrote a paper on migration control policies and undocumented migrants and designed a research project on the same subject. As an intern at the University of Granada, she coordinated a seminar on Moroccans in Andalusia. The event was part of the project “Atlas of Moroccans in Andalusía” which focused on life stories collected by anthropologists, led by Dr. Mokhtar Marzok and Prof. Smaïn Laacher.

As a postgraduate student, she worked as Research Assistant for Prof. Catherine De Wenden on the preparation of her book “La question migratoire au XXIème siècle” (“The migration issue in the 21st century”) at the Centre for International Studies and Research affiliated to Sciences Po (CERI).

In 2009, she was awarded an allowance to study at the Southern University of California where she particularly focused on the study of the political engagement of the Iranian Diaspora in California. Further to conducting fieldwork there, she wrote a paper entitled “Transnational networks of migrants and International Relations. A case study: the Iranian Diaspora in Los Angeles”; which she presented at the 2010 Exceps conference at Exeter University in the UK.

After obtaining her Masters degree in International Affairs she worked as project officer for two years in Morocco in the Rabat School of Governance and Economics. During her stay in Morocco and in the 2012 fall semester she researched the Moroccan diaspora, transnationalism and migration from the perspective of the sending country.

She joined the Marie Curie Changing Employment Programme in March 2013 on the following topic “Life on the margins - the social implications of precarious work specifically in relation to young minority ethnic workers”.

The languages she is able to use for her research include French, English, Polish, Spanish, German, and Arabic.
