Sara Lafuente Hernández - Early Stage Researcher

Since March 2013, Sara has been an Early Stage Researcher within the theme “Social partners as managers of organizational change”. She undertakes her PhD at the Centre Métices of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB).
She studied Law and Political Science at the University Carlos III of Madrid (2003-2009) and spent an academic year at the Westfälische-Wilhelms Universität Münster (Germany). After having achieved a Master II (Research) in Legal Theory and Legal Analysis at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales of Paris, she got her Masters Diploma of Advanced Studies in 2009.
She then became a lawyer at the Bar of Madrid specialized in Labour Law and Social Security Law, and has been working since then as a lawyer-associate for two major lawyer firms dealing with the legal assessment to MNC on labour law matters in regard to restructuring processes and collective bargaining until February 2013.
As a committed jurist, she has been involved in various non-profit projects concerned with social rights, and has actively participated in critical social movements in Madrid, assessing workers and unemployed nationals and foreigners on labour and administrative matters.
Legal sociology; Industrial Relations within MNC in the EU; collective labour law in the context of new work organizations and globalization (outsourcing, group of companies, among others); exercise of labour rights and liberties, processes and action of social agents in the EU in the context of current crisis; workers representation, social agents’ legitimacy and industrial democracy.
